What are Facial Veins?
Facial veins are surface veins that look like dilated, red blood vessels or blue-colored veins in the eye area, temples, forehead and cheeks. Facial veins occur most often when a patient experiences excessive sun damage, uses steroids, has trauma, or has a medical condition such as Rosacea. Facial veins are not feeder veins, so they can be successfully eliminated by either Endovenus Laser treatment or Sclerotherapy.
How do you treat Facial Veins?
To correct facial veins, Dr. Youssef uses Sclerotherapy to inject foam into the vein, causing the blood vessels to erode, allowing blood to flow.
Alternatively, Dr. Youssef can use EVLT or Endovenus Laser treatment, where he will take a laser fiber to heat and destroy the problem veins so they eventually close and are able to be removed.
What is the recovery process?
Vein treatment is minimally invasive, so recovery is fast and painless.
