During this relaxing and energizing one-on-one, they’ll discuss your concerns, your goals for treatment, and your medical history. Procedure
Chemical peels can be superficial to exfoliate the uppermost layer of skin or deeper to improve pigmentation and skin texture. Your Younique provider will thoroughly cleanse your treatment area, then they’ll apply the solution for your specific chemical peel. During your 15-minute session, you may feel a burning sensation (similar to a sunburn) for 1 to 2 minutes during the peel. After a layer of skin peels off, it reveals fresher, tighter cells that are not as damaged for younger-looking skin.
Recovery
Chemical peel recovery time varies slightly for each patient. After chemical peels in Los Angeles, patients should:
- Stay out of the sun for about 7 days.
- Avoid activities that cause heavy sweating for a few days.
- For 7 days use soap-free, gentle, hydrating cleansers, applied by hand only. No scrubbing.
- Apply moisturizer twice each day for 7 to 14 days, until your skin is no longer dry and tight.
- Put on sunscreen that is SPF 30 or higher each day for the future protection of your younger skin.

Who is a good candidate for chemical peels?
Younique patients with fair skin and light hair are the best candidates for peels or chemical peels. Patients with darker skin and darker hair also may receive good results, but also may still have an uneven skin tone after chemical peel treatments. In many cases, patients with deep wrinkles, skin sags, or unsightly facial “bulges,” may not respond properly to chemical peels.
Your Younique provider will examine your facial skin during your consultation. If you aren’t a good candidate for chemical peels, don’t worry—we can suggest other effective treatments for your concerns!
